Fire Apparatus
The Windsor Locks Fire department was organized in the year 1890. That year the town purchased 1000′ feet of hose to be used on the department’s newly acquired 1875 hand-drawn hose reel. Below are two newspaper photos from the early 1960s that include the hose cart. Today we operate a number of modern motorized apparatus containing the latest engineering and safety features. Shown below is our current fleet of fire apparatus and we also have a photo gallery of some Past Apparatus at the bottom of this page.
